You are invited to crochet a sweet bunny named Navit with me. The bunny is crocheted in 7 parts – head, ears, legs and body, arms, shirt, trousers, and a decorative flower. All parts, except part of the shirt and the flower, will be crocheted in a round using a spiral method. Skill Level - Intermediate.

General
1.In every part you crochet in a round using the spiral method, you should place a marker (pm). I recommend to use a different color of yarn than the color that is being crocheted as markers. I pull the marker with me while I crochet each rnd and keep all the markers in their place till the bunny is completed. The markers will help you to join all the parts, to locate the eyes and embroider the nose. If you look at the picture bellow, you will see my markers on each part, except the head, since they are located at its “back”.

When there is a need for additional markers, the instructions will be marked in red.
2.All parts will be joined with the yarn we are crocheting with, except the arms and the ears, which I recommend to join with a double sewing thread as I will explain later.
3.Instructions for certain actions will be followed by photo tutorials / video tutorials.
4.X sc = crochet 1 sc to each of next X sts => 3 sc = crochet 1 sc in each of next 3 sts.
5.We will repeat instructions in square brackets [ ] the number of times written after the brackets. For example, view the instructions in rnd 3 of the head and its “translation” Rnd 3 [inc, 1 sc in next st] * 6 times (18) => [crochet 2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st] now, repeat instructions in square brackets 5 times more.
6.Instructions in round brackets ( ) = crochet all the instructions in brackets to the st mentions after them as you can see in the flower in page 23.
7.At each rnd / row end, the total number of sts will be mentioned in round brackets ( ). At the end of rnd 3 of the head you should have 18 sts.
Special Stitches
1.Magic ring video tutorial =>
2.Inc – increase – crochet 2 sc to next st.
3.Inv dec - Invisible decrease - insert the crochet hook under the next fl, and then under the next fl (3 loops on hook), yarn over and pull the yarn through 2 fl (2 loops on hook), yarn over and pull the yarn through both loops - inv dec has been made. Video tutorial =>
4.Sc2tog – insert the crochet hook to requested st, yarn over and pull a loop (2 loops on hook), insert the crochet hook to the next st, yarn over and pull a loop (3 loops on hook), yarn over and pull the yarn through 3 loops - sc2tog has been made.
5.When crocheting in a round in a spiral method it is important to create the last st without adding a st - video tutorial =>
6.A standing sc video tutorial =>
7.When crocheting a rnd in a joining each rnd method, the last st to the 1st st - video tutorial =>

Rnds 28-40 15 sc (15 sts), pm after st 15.

Cut the yarn leaving an extra 20 cm tail and create the last st with a needle (“Special Stitches” sub paragraph 5). Now, close the ears last rnd by sewing each 2 external loops as follows, so the closure will be thin and will allow to join the ears to the bunny’s head in a more delicate way:
Sew fl of 1st st to bl of 15th st,
Sew fl of 2nd st to bl of 14th st,
Sew fl of 3rd st to bl of 13th st ,
Sew fl of 4th st to bl of 12th st,
Sew fl of 5th st to bl of 11th st ,
Sew fl of 6th st to bl of 10th st,
Sew fl of 7th st to bl of 9th st ,
And finish by sewing fl of 8th st to bl of 9th st (you will sew twice to st 9). Weave in leftover yarn.
You can see here the markers that follow my work and the pale blue yarn that shows you where to sew the ears

Joining the Ears to the Head
I prefer to sew the ears with a double cream sewing threads and a suitable needle. That way brings to a more delicate view than by using the crocheted yarn.
Join the ears according to the markers you placed on rnd 6 (sts 7-13 & sts 28-34). While sewing - kindly note that the ears’ markers will be inside the ears.

Legs (*2) and Body (Cream or Peach yarn)
Create a mr (“Special Stitches” sub paragraph 1).
Rnd 1 6 sc into the ring (6 sts), pull the magic ring tail in order to minimize it, pm after st 6. Rnd 2 inc * 6 (12 sts), pm after st 12.
Rnd 3 [inc, 1 sc] * 6 (18 sts), pm after st 18.
Rnds 4-7 18 sc (18 sts), pm after st 18.
Rnd 8 3 sc, [inv dec, 2 sc] * 3, 3 sc (15 sts), pm after st 15.
Rnd 9 3 sc, [inv dec, 1 sc] * 3, 3 sc (12 sts), pm after st 12. Stuff with Acrilan.
Rnds 10-23 12 sc (12 sts), pm after st 12.
Stuff with Acrilan while crocheting the leg.
PM in 6th st in the last rnd of the 1st leg.
Cut the yarn of the 1st leg leaving an extra 10 cm tail and create the last st with a needle (“Special Stitches” sub paragraph 5). Weave in leftover yarn. Finish to stuff with Acrilan. Crochet the 2nd leg while stuffing it with Acrilan and do not cut the yarn.
PM in 1st st in the last rnd of the 2nd leg.
Start crocheting the bunny’s buddy:
Rnd 1 join 2nd leg to 1st leg with 1 sc that will be crocheted to its 6th st (that we pm in).

Keep crocheting 11 sc sts. Now, you will go back to the 2nd leg and join it to the 1st leg with 1 sc that will be crocheted to its 1st st (that we pm in), keep crocheting 11 sc (24 sts) pm after st 24.
Rnd 2 [3 sc, inc] * 6 (30 sts), pm after st 30.
Rnd 3 [4 sc, inc] * 6 (36 sts), pm after st 36. Rnds 4-19 36 sc (36 sts), pm after st 36.
Rnd 20 [inv dec, 4 sc] * 6 (30 sts), pm after st 30.
Rnd 21 30 sc (30 sts), pm after st 30. Rnd 22 [inv dec, 3 sc] * 6 (24 sts), pm after st 24.
Rnd 23 24 sc (24 sts), pm after st 24. Rnd 24 [inv dec, 2 sc] * 6 (18 sts), pm after st 18.
Rnd 25 18 sc (18 sts), pm after st 18. Stuff with Acrilan.
Pm in each st around since those will be your joining points with the bunny’s head. In addition, pm in sts 6 to 10 and in sts 13 to 17 since the arms will be joined there later.
Rnd 26 [inv dec, 1 sc] * 6 (12 sts), pm after st 12. Finish to stuff the body.
Rnd 27 inv dec * 6 (6 sts).
Cut the yarn leaving an extra 20 cm tail and create the last st with a needle, (“Special Stitches” sub paragraph 5).
Joining the Legs & Body to the Bunny’s Head
18 sts in rnd 25 in the bunny’s body will be sewed to 18 sts in rnd 21 in the bunny’s head

When you actually sew the head to the body kindly note that the marker
of the bunny’s body will be facing you.

Rnds 14-20 12 sc (12 sts), pm after st 12.
Rnd 21 [inv dec, 4 sc] * 2, (10 sts), pm after st 10.
Rnds 22-23 10 sc (10 sts), pm after st 10.
Cut the yarn leaving an extra 10 cm tail. Close the last rnd as you closed the ear, by sewing each 2 external loops, so the closure will be thin and will allow to join the arms to the bunny’s body in a more delicate way. Weave in leftover yarn.
Joining the Arms to the Body
Since 3 body parts – head, body & arms, are joined together in the neck area, I recommend to join the arms with a cream color double sewing threads so that the outcome will be more delicate.
Join the arms on rnd 25 of the body, where you join the head to the body.
1st arm will be sewed on sts 6 -10, and 2nd arm will be sewed on sts 13-17.

Please note that the arms will be sewed as follows– On the right arm - the markers will be shown externally
On the left arm - the markers will be shown internally

cut the yarn leaving an extra 10 cm tail and pull the yarn from the loop in order to secure the last st. Weave in leftover yarn as explained in next rnd. The shirt after row 7

Now, you will crochet the final rnd of the shirt.
Start crocheting standing sc (“Special Stitches” sub paragraph 6), to 1st sc from the last rnd, and 1 sc to each of next 21 sts till you reach to the part that was crocheted in rows. Standing sc location

Keep crocheting 1 sc in each of next 7 rows of the bunny’s shirt,
After crocheting 1 sc in each row and the right shirt stripe

Ch 21, sl st in 2nd ch from hook and in each on next 19 chains, 1 additional sc to the last sc that we crocheted on row 7, before ch 21, 1 sc to each of next 5 sts (while weave in and hide the leftover yarn – the yarn that was left from the shirt).
Before crocheting the left shirt stripe
